Our goal is to provide just-in-time end user training with Georgia State procedures and training materials that will suit your needs.
Training will be provided for end users throughout the University Community in order to facilitate learning and skills necessary to effectively use the Banner Student System. Courses are developed to suit Georgia State end-users’ needs with Georgia State’s procedures. Please be advised that training is only open to individuals who have requested access to Banner Application Navigator (AppNav).
All Banner users are required to complete the Multimedia Navigation Training, Student System Query Training, and Cyber-Security Training. Depending on the level of access requested users may be required to complete Registration Training, Banner AR Training and GLBA Data Training. All trainings must be completed within two months. If training is not completed in the two month period, you must complete and submit a new Banner AppNav Request Form.
New Banner users are required to:
- Complete the Multimedia Basic Navigation training.
- Complete the instructor-led Student System Query training, which will include a Basic Navigation review.
Effective June 1, 2012
Banner users who request view or update access to Student Accounts/AR information are required to completed the Student Accounts/AR training. Please review the information below for the training requirements and information on how to register for the training.

Banner users who request update access to certain registration information are required to complete the registration training.

Effective Spring 2021
To comply with our BOR policy, all Georgia State employees must complete the Cyber-Security training. In addition, any Banner user requesting access or have access to financial aid and student accounts data must complete GLBA Awareness training for compliance with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley (GLB) Act Safeguards Rule.
If you do not complete these training requirements, you will no longer have access to Banner.
Requesting access to GLBA VPN Profile…If your approved security access includes access to GLBA Data, please make sure to follow the instructions included in your ‘Banner User ID Activated’ or ‘Modification Access Processed’ email. The GLBA VPN process is now following the new production workflow. The Banner user’s supervisor must fill out the form to request access to VPN.
