The PAWS portal is a web application where students, faculty, and advisors can easily access GoSOLAR, which is our Self-Service applications for functions such as registration and pay tuition and fees, view class roll and submit grades, and view academic evaluations, etc.
Banner is the Student Information System database that staff use to access student records. Students access the database via the PAWS Portal Student Self-Service and faculty access the database via the PAWS Portal Faculty Self-Service.
Application Navigator (AppNav) is an administrative application that provides access to Banner pages. This function uses a Java-based web application (Admin pages) and replaces Oracle forms (INB). Approved users can log on directly to Banner using a compatible web browser. Please refer to the “How do I..” section below for AppNav instructions.
It is a web product that students can use to view their academic record, financial aid, student account, and register for classes. You can find more instructions on online registration in the Registration Guide section of the Registrar’s site.
BPROD is the Georgia State University Production database where production student data is housed. Employees use this system application to input, update or view student-related data.
User ID and Password
Your Banner user ID is the same as your campus ID. E-mail [email protected] if you have questions about your Banner user ID.
The University Auditors have advised that ALL system applications adopt a password policy which forces users to change passwords on a regular basis. In keeping with this recommendation — and in light of the many security issues in the current computing environment — Georgia State has implemented this policy with the Banner system.
